Tooth fairy book read online11/18/2023 ![]() “It’s time to replace the old golden star. “Come, children!” Said the Tooth Fairy, taking their hands. And we know an old golden star will fall very soon and will need to be replaced. Now, your teeth are very special, Tom, because they will grow into golden stars. “Well,” said the Tooth Fairy, “most stars in the sky are silver, but here and there you can see gold ones.” “But why is my tooth so important?” Asked Tom. That is why when a child’s tooth drops out I come down and collect it! “ To avoid this misconception.“New stars grow from special star seeds, which are children’s baby teeth. The teacher must make the students aware of the consequences of his behaviour and explain why it is not right. However a negative point in regards to this book is children may adopt Henry's attitude and behaviour and confuse themselves as they see his as a favourable character. Also used in literacy to use similes and metaphors to describe Henrys attitudes as well as others feelings and attitudes. Also to enforce their own social discipline as the teacher can ask the students: What is Henry doing? Is this right? Why? This could lead to students making posters to encourage positive behaviour. A good way to use this book may be during drama when they act out the story. This book can be used for drama in order to act out parts of the story and the teacher can encourage students to describe the feelings of others who are affected by Henry as well as the feelings Henry may be feeling. Also the way it is presented in clear spaced typing and exciting illustrations. This book is good in the sense that it is humorous and due to the humour children will be encouraged to continue reading. In this story Henry notices how children get money in return for their fallen out teeth and decides to play a trick on the tooth fairy. The story is part of a collection of a well known character called Henry who is mischievous in comparison to his brother who is referred to as 'perfect'. This will be a good way to ask the children to use their imagination to guess what will happen next and encourage them to write their own version of the next part. Also it could also been used to read out loud to a group of 6-8 years during a class. This book I would recommend as a independent book for children at the ages 8-10 for guided reading or quiet reading sessions. The only negative of the book is that it is slightly dated (for example the use of telegrams instead of e-mail.) However the humor and characters mean this book can still be enjoyed and used in the classroom today. There are a lot of uses of adjectives also. The character's in this book are very vivid and well described. It could be used as a base for a lot of work in literacy on alliteration, character and similes. It would be perfect as a year 2 class reader as the stories are short to keep the children engaged. I found my-self laughing out loud while reading this book and think that adults and children alike will enjoy reading it. If Horrid Henry can do this he will win Rude Ralph's football due to a bet the two boys made about it. The final story "Horrid Henry's New Teacher" is about Horrid Henry's attempts to make his new scary teacher Mr Nerdon run away screaming. In this story one of Horrid Henry's pranks actually pleases Mum and Dad as Margaret's parents come home early after a fake telegram made by Horrid Henry. At first Mum and Dad don't believe that she is really moody but they quickly learn that Horrid Henry wasn't exaggerating. The third story "Moody Margaret Moves In' is about when his hated classmate Margaret moves in for two weeks while her parents are on holiday. He is forced to wear a horrible, frilly costume and so tries to sabotage the day in revenge. The second story " Horrid Henry's Wedding" is about when Horrid Henry is forced to be a page boy for his cousin's wedding. ![]() This story was about how Horrid Henry is jealous when everyone else is losing a tooth and getting money from the tooth fairy so he tries to find a way to tick the tooth fairy into giving him some money which proves difficult. "Horrid Henry Tricks The Tooth Fairy" was the first short story amongst four in this book.
